Chelsea Former Midfielder Set To Secure Top Managerial Role

Chelsea Former midfielder Damien Duff is set secure top Managerial Role for the very first time in his career at Ireland League club side Shelbourne.

Flippstack understands that the 42-year-old has worked behind the scenes in various coaching roles since retiring six years ago, most notably at Celtic and the Ireland national team.

According to Football.London who reported on Wednesday that Damien Duff is set to take charge of the irish club immediately.

What Was Said?

The report stated that:

‘An announcement confirming his appointment is expected at midday,’ the story claims.

‘He has been working with the club’s under-17 team and initially turned down the offer of taking control of the first team only to accept the role having been asked to reconsider.

‘It is a starkly different environment to what he knew in a playing career that also took in spells at Fulham, Newcastle United and Blackburn Rovers.’

The former Chelsea star, Duff will be managing the side who were promoted to the Irish top tier last month, taking over from Ian Morris who has since left the club.
