Chelsea Beat Juventus 4-0 To Reach Round Of 16

Chelsea was too good for Juventus at Stamford Bridge as they smash four past the Italian giants to qualify for the next round of the UEFA Champions League campaign.

Thoma Tuchel‘s men finally got their revenge over Juventus, thanks to goals from their academy graduates Chalobah, James, and Hudson Odoi before substitute Timo Werner made it four with the last kick of the game.

Trevoh Chalobah opened the scoring in the 25th minute with a right-footed strike following a corner from Hakim Ziyech which fell to Antonio Rudiger before dropping to Chalobah who made no mistake smashing the ball into the back of the net.

Juventus pressured Chelsea after the first goal, forcing Thiago Silver to make a touchline clearance at the end of the first half to keep Chelsea’s 1-0 lead intact.

Chelsea came back the second half stronger, getting their second goal of the night through Reece James in the 56th minutes before Hudson Odoi made it three in the 58th minute.

Timo Werner added ice to the cake with the 4th goal in the 95th minute of the game to secure Chelsea’s qualification to the next round of the competition.

Despite the win from Chelsea, both teams are through to the next round. Chelsea will now face Zenit at the last fixture of the group stage while Juventus will face Malmo.

According to Thomas Tuchel after the Match:

“Very good performance. We wanted to stay patient but we did not want to fall asleep. The team did very well; it’s so tough to create chances and score goals and we made so many.

“We were sharper, we were even more determined, we took more risks in the areas of the pitch it is necessary to take risks.

“In Turin, we had control but did not penetrate.

“We do the invisible work as we are very disciplined.

“Chilwell has a sharp pain in the knee and Kante has twisted his knee.”
