Chelsea boss Thomas Tuchel has joined his squad at Abu Dhabi ahead of tomorrow’s FIFA Club World Cup Final after missing out in their first match due to Covid-19.

The German had been absent since testing positive for Covid but has finally been cleared to travel to the United Arab Emirates on Friday after a negative test result which will surely boost the club’s chances of winning the Club World Cup.

The team has been without Tuchel for the past two matches including their Club World Cup semi-final win over Al Hilal and Saturday’s FA Cup victory against Plymouth in the FA Cup, although he was in direct communication with his coaching staff throughout those matches.

He has now joined his players and staff, arriving at Chelsea’s Abu Dhabi base in the evening local time, shortly after the squad’s last training session before tomorrow’s Club World Cup final against Brazilian side Palmeiras.

This means he will now be in charge in the dugout tomorrow as his team looks forward to winning the CWC for the first time.
