Facebook, WhatsApp, And Instagram Services Are Currently Down

The three social media platform Facebook, WhatsApp, and Instagram which shares the same infrastructure are currently down Worldwide for the second time this year.

All Users of the apps in both iOS, Android, and on the web are getting error warnings such as “Sorry, something went wrong,”, “5xx Server Error,” and others.

According to data from Downdetector and user comments on Twitter, the outage is affecting every Facebook-owned platform, including Instagram, WhatsApp, and Facebook Messenger but it’s unclear if it impacts all users or just some locations.

The services are currently unavailable in some countries like Nigeria, the United States, the United Kingdom, and others. The problem appears to be related to a DNS issue affecting Facebook servers.

“We’re aware that some people are having trouble accessing the Facebook app,” the company said on Twitter. “We’re working to get things back to normal as quickly as possible, and we apologize for any inconvenience.”
