Welcome to Flippstack, it has been a busy week in Chelsea camp as players who are not in Thomas Tuchel’s plan for the new season are making loan moves to other clubs. We have compiled Chelsea transfer news making the headlines for today.

Emerson Completes Loan Move To Lyon

Chelsea’s left-back Emerson Palmieri who can also play as a wing-back has completed a season-long loan move from Chelsea to Ligue 1 side Lyon.

The Italian International has made 71 appearances and won major European trophies with the club including the Champions League and Super Cup they won recently. He was a member of the Italian national team that won the Euro 2020 tournament.

He is not ready to be the third choice left-back this season at Chelsea which led to his loan move to Lyon where he will get some game time.

Matt Miazga Extends His Contract And A Loan Move To Spanish Club

Chelsea’s 26years old central defender Matt Miazga has completed a season-long loan to Spanish club Alaves after signing a new contract this summer with Chelsea.

The USA international, Miazga signed for Chelsea in January 2016 from New York Red Bulls, where he had progressed through the ranks and made his senior debut at the age of 18.

He has only made two appearances for Chelsea in April 2016 before moving on loan to Dutch side Vitesse where he won the Dutch Cup.

Wright Compares Chalobah To Virgil van Dijk 

Former Arsenal striker Ian Wright has compared Trevoh Chalobbah to Virgil van Dijk and also praised him for his recent performances for the blues.

According to Ian Wright on his podcast:

‘Watching him against Arsenal in pre-season I was thinking, “wow, maybe it’s just a pre-season friendly he looks good”,’ Wright said. ‘I watched him against Villarreal in the Super Cup and I thought, “my god he’s really good”.’

The 22-year-old has impressed Thomas Tuchel after scoring on his Premier League debut last weekend, he is expected to be given more chances to be involved in the squad.

‘You know what he reminded me of, not the same player, not the same stature, but the same way Van Dijk played for Celtic,’ Wright added. ‘People said he’s taking liberties just because he’s good and not the same standard as others.

‘I watched Chalobah play for Ipswich a couple of times where he played in that vein where you think I’d like to see him against better quality.’

Diego Costa Signs For New Club

Former Chelsea striker Diego Costa has completed a free transfer move to Brazilian side Atletico Mineiro. The Spanish International has stayed 8 months without a club after he left Atletico Madrid in December.

The Atletico board and the player have reached an agreement, according to the club’s statement and Galo will be his first club as a professional athlete in Brazil.

He will be helping the club challenge for trophies this season especially the Copa Libertadores title.

Chelsea Interested In Signing Tchouameni

Chelsea are reportedly interested in signing Monaco’s midfielder Aurelien Tchouameni. The midfielder’s wonderful performances last season have draw interest from top English clubs including Manchester united.

The 21-year-old is valued at around £40 million by Monaco after arriving for £18 million from Bordeaux in January 2020.

Chelsea will have to battle it out with Manchester United who are also interested in the French international.
