SASSA Reveals Grant Payment Dates For September 2023

Flippstack reports that the South African Social Security Agency (Sassa) has announced the September 2023 dates for grants receipts, which will start out with older person’s grants.

According to SASA, social grants will be paid in the following order:

SASSA September Grant payment 2023:

• Older person grant: Tuesday 5th September 2023– Grants linked to this account
• Disability grant: Wednesday 6th September 2023 – Grants linked to this account
• Rest of the SASSA grants: Thursday 7th September 2023

“There is no need to rush to withdraw cash on the first day. Once the money is in the account, it will remain there until it is needed,” said the agency.

The President declared the National State of Disaster as a result of the Covid-19 global pandemic. In this regard, he introduced a special Covid-19 Social Relief of Distress Grant (SRD) of R350 per month for 6 months to be paid to individuals who are currently unemployed, do not receive any form of income, social grant, or UIF payment, etc.

As previously reported, the post office no longer pays the R350 grant. Its beneficiaries are encouraged to collect from approved retail outlets or have it deposited directly into their bank accounts.
