About NIMC

National Identity Management Commission (NIMC) is a Nigerian government organization charged with the responsibility of the country’s National identity management and database. NIMC was established in 2007 under the NIMC Act No. 23 of 2007.

NIMC operates and regulates matters of national identity in Nigeria with services covering National Identification Number (NIN) enrolment and issuance, National e-ID card issuance, identity verification as well as data harmonization and authentication.

Functions Of The NIMC In Nigeria

Below are the functions of the National Identity Management Commission in Nigeria:

• Integrate the existing national identity card database in government institutions
