Chelsea Defeats Peterborough United 6-1 In First Pre-Season Fixture

Chelsea hit six past Peterborough United in a friendly match at Cobham to kick-off their 2021/22 Pre-Season on a high note.

Thomas Tuchel’s men were on fire this afternoon securing a vital win that will boost their confidence heading to Pre-season friendlies against Bournemouth, Arsenal, and Tottenham are planned in the coming weeks.

Tammy Abraham, Christian Pulisic, and Armando Broja all hit the net whilst Hakim Ziyech got a second-half hattrick to roundup the score.

All 10 outfield players selected by Tuchel, were altered at the start of the second period, with Ruben Loftus-Cheek, Armando Borja, Conor Gallagher, and Hakim Ziyech among those entering the fray, and it was the Moroccan who enjoyed himself the most after the break.

The 28-year-old Moroccan netted an impressive hat-trick, the first of which was fired in off the underside of the crossbar following neat play down the left from Baba Rahman.

Broja then teed him up for a second before he pounced on a loose pass in the box to complete the scoring late on. Prior to that, Broja had also scored as the Blues stepped up the intensity in the second period.

According to Athletic: Kai Havertz, Antonio Rudiger, and Timo Werner are expected to return for Pre-Season on Tuesday
