White House Stenography Office Employment Opportunity 2023
The White House Stenography Office Seeking Transcriptionists, Court Reporters, Scopists, Proofreaders, and Editors. Candidates with hybrid skillsets across transcription, grammar, punctuation, and research skills can apply to join our transcription team.
This opportunity offers a front-row seat to history recording, transcribing, and proofreading verbatim public remarks of proofreading verbatim public remarks of senior government officials in the federal government.
Location: Based in Washington, D.C., this position entails frequent travel and a fluid, rigorous schedule.

Eligibility Criteria
Qualified candidates must meet the following criteria:
- Ability to transcribe a minimum of 60 words per minute with 70-80% accuracy.
- Excellent grasp of advanced grammar and punctuation usage.
- Demonstrated professional experience in writing and editing.
- Exceptional attention to detail, effective communications skills within a team, and a high degree of professionalism.
- Proven ability to work effectively and proactively in a fast-paced team environment.
- Demonstrated interest in and knowledge of current U.S. domestic and international issues.
- Knowledge of transcription software
- Proofreading experience a plus.
