GEEP Loan Update: FG Trains NOA Officials As Part of Preparation For GEEP Registration

The Federal Government have started the training of National Orientation Agency (NOA) staff which was flagged off on Friday by the Minister of Humanitarian Affairs, Disaster Management and Social Development, Sadiya Umar Farouk as the Ministry prepares for commencement of 2021 GEEP Loan Registration.

The Government Enterprise and Empowerment Programme (GEEP) was introduced by President Buhari led government to help small and medium businesses grow at a very fast pace.

According to the Ministry, the training of the NOA will enable easy execution and implementation of the Government Enterprise and Empowerment Programme (GEEP). The Ministry also made it clear that it will continue its partnership with the National Orientation Agency for the implementation of the National Social Investment Programme.

The Ministry also disclosed that the Master  Trainers will also train the Community Orientation and Mobilization Officers (COMO’s) as “GEEP Local Government Desk Officers” at all the 774 local government areas across the 36 states and the Federal Capital Territory (FCT).

Roles of the GEEP Local Government Desk Officers as stated by the Minister, Sadiya Umar Farouk:

1. Sensitize communities on the GEEP programme
2. Register interested beneficiaries of TraderMoni, MarketMoni and FarmerMoni
3. Collect and collate the necessary data for the programme
4. Provide necessary feedback to the programme coordinators at State and Federal Levels
5. Encourage active participation in the programme
6. And uphold the mandate of the programme and lead with honesty, fairness under conditions of oath.
