The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) Saturday debunked rumours making the rounds that the commission has commenced recruiting.

Naija News reports that the anti-graft agency made this known in a statement on its Facebook page.

The anti-corruption agency warned Nigerians that the Commission is not currently recruiting, describing the ‘EFCC Recruitment Form 2021’ as fake.

The commission said that it “wishes to alert the public about fake EFCC Recruitment Form 2021 circulating on the social media, and to warn that the Commission is currently not recruiting.

“Fraudsters are circulating forged Offer of Employment Letters, purporting same to be from the EFCC, and extorting members of the public.

“The public should note that, there is no ongoing recruitment in the EFCC. The purported ‘EFCC Recruitment Form 2021’, as well as the ‘official recruitment portal’ and ‘Offer of Employment Letters’, are non -existent.

“For the avoidance of doubt, recruitment into the EFCC is a structured, transparent and merit-driven process which is always heavily advertised through the mass media and the Commission’s social media platforms. It is highly automated, with no place for the so-called Employment Form.

“The EFCC is on the trail of the scammers behind this devious scheme as no efforts will be spared to bring them to justice.

“The Commission urges the public to cross-check any doubtful information with the agency through: Info@Efccnigeria.Org.”

– The Niger government has announced a new security arrangement in the state

– The commissioner for local government and chieftaincy affairs, Abdulmalik Sarkin Daji, said the new arrangement will involve youths

– Daji explained the reason for the adoption of the new security measure

Governor Abubakar Sani Bello has approved the recruitment of 4,000 youths across Niger state.

The state government announced that the youths will be recruited from the 25 local government areas of the state, The Guardian reported.

According to the state commissioner for local government and chieftaincy affairs, Abdulmalik Sarkin Daji, the recruitment and training are for the establishment of community policing in the state.

He said the government hopes to reduce security challenges confronting the state through community policing.

The commissioner assured security agencies of the government’s support in terms of providing logistics and other necessary aide.

He also praised the Niger state commissioner of police, Adamu Usman, for effectively policing the state.

Daji stated that the police boss has been able to protect lives and property of citizens of the state even with the lean resources at his disposal.

Meanwhile, the defence headquarters (DHQ) has said the Nigerian military has recorded huge victories against insurgents in the northeast.

According to The Cable, the spokesperson for the defence headquarters, John Enenche, told the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) that Boko Haram can no longer operate in the northeast like they use to do prior to 2015.

Enenche explained that the military has stopped Boko Haram from taking over territories and setting up administrative structures.

In another news, a presidential spokesperson, Garba Shehu, has said it is entirely up to President Muhammadu Buhari to decide when to make changes in the appointment of service chiefs.

The Cable reported that Shehu told a TVC programme on Sunday, January 10, that Nigerians should allow the president to make the changes whenever he deems appropriate to do so.

He, however, pointed out that Buhari has kept the current security chiefs in office because he sees what Nigerians do not see.

  • The MEAL Manager will plan for baseline, midline and end-line surveys, post-distribution monitoring surveys, Knowledge Attitude and Practice surveys with the support of the MEAL deputy and M&E officers.

Responsibilities

  • Ensure  appropriate utilization of the already setup MEAL systems  to guide project start-up, implementation, adjustment, accountability and learning in compliance with ACF’s MEAL Guidelines and Minimum Requirements for MEAL
  • Develop projects MEAL plans as per ACF and donors requirements and standards
  • Support M&E officers in the development of  ToRs and data collection tools for surveys, needs assessments, mid-term and project reviews / evaluations, including sampling and assessment methodologies
  • In collaboration with the MEAL HOD and DHOD and field teams, lead in the preparation of comprehensive M&E plans for each project to capture quantitative and qualitative data for project performance tracking and reporting
  • Validate the analysis of MEAL data of different projects as needed through Excel, SPSS or other statistical software submitted by M&E officers
  • Support development and revision of internal and external reports, ensuring compliance with donor requirements and that reports reflect an actual representation of field implementation activities and results based on MEAL findings
  • Support development of project proposal if required by MEAL technical team
  • Support MEAL HOD and DHODs to conduct and operationalize MEAL capacity assessment among MEAL and project staff Support MEAL HoD and DHODs to build the capacity of staff, including training needs assessment and preparation of step down plan
  • Support the set up of Feedback Complaints Mechanism channels at base level in collaboration with Accountability officer.
  • Support investigation of sensitive complaints, if required by the audit department
  • With support from MEAL HOD and DHODs, institutionalize and document  the tracking and implementation of lessons learnt and recommendations from all  assessments conducted
  • Advise and update the Project Managers on all aspects of MEAL regularly, including findings and recommendations.
  • To represent ACF at the state level and where appropriate, cluster, working groups, workshops and strategic think tanks related to the department.
  • To proactively collaborate with national authorities, ACF counterparts and staff, partner agencies, consortia / alliances / partnerships and other relevant external stakeholders

Position Requirement

  • Minimum of Bachelor’s degree in Economics, Rural Development, Business, Administration, Statistics, Demography or a related subject, with previous experience working in humanitarian projects
  • Minimum of 5 years of previous experience working with NGOs covering multi-sectorial programming
  • Proven management and coordination skills (projects and stress management)
  • Proven ability to translate analysis and evaluation into operational planning and strategy
  • Knowledge and experience in qualitative and quantitative data management techniques including proficient and skilful use of SPSS, STATA, EXCEL, Epi-info software’s
  • Experience on project monitoring and evaluation with special emphasis on activity monitoring, data management including data collection, analysis and storage
  • Advanced knowledge of international humanitarian  guidelines and standards including those of donors

Aim and Benefits of Lagos Innovates Workspace Vouchers Programme

  1. Workspace Vouchers support the highest potential founders and/or startups in Lagos State at the very early stages of their ventures (ideation to very early revenue) by facilitating access to well-equipped workspaces and learning.
  2. To help defray the cost of accessing high-quality infrastructure, Lagos Innovates will cover 30% to 75% on average of membership costs at any of our Partner Hubs for 3 to 12 months. The value of the award varies by stage. Partner Hubs are listed below.
  3. To ensure that this benefit goes to the most promising founders and highest potential startups, the application and allocation processes are competitive and merit-based.

Requirements for Lagos Innovates Workspace Vouchers Programme Qualification

  1. Your venture stage is anywhere from ideation to very early revenue. This means that it is either not yet incorporated, or it was incorporated less than one year from the date of your application for a Workspace Voucher.
  2. Your team is small and does not include any paid staff. You are a team of co-founders.
  3. You do not generate monthly revenues of more than one million naira.
  4. You have never received any third-party capital for your venture; this includes grants, equity or debt.

Interview date, Process and Venue for Lagos Innovates Workspace Vouchers Programme

  1. Your online application will be judged entirely on its merits, subject to your meeting the eligibility criteria for a Workspace Voucher.
  2. Applications will be scored by a panel of judges from within the Lagos startup ecosystem, taking into account four criteria: (1) market opportunity, (2) strength of the entrepreneur/co-founding team, (3) progress or traction to date, and (4) strength of recommendation by a credible third-party.
  3. The maximum possible score is 100 points, and Workspace Vouchers will be allocated to the highest scoring ventures subject to a minimum threshold score of 50 points, until the available vouchers for a particular period are exhausted.
  4. It is possible to score 50 points without a third-party recommendation, but this is a good way to increase your score. Ideal referees are recognised experts from within the Lagos startup ecosystem (for example, successful founders, investors with notable track records, hub/incubator operators, etc.) who know you/your co-founders and your venture well and can provide genuine insight about your potential.
