Halogen Cyber Competition 2023 For Nigerian Youths (Win Upto 1million)

This Competition seeks to promote cyber security awareness, competencies, and capabilities among Nigerian youths. The competition has also been designed to assist talented and result-oriented youths to grow and maximize their skills, for them to make an impact within the nation’s cybersecurity space.

With the necessary support infrastructure, Halogen in partnership with the Federal Ministry of Youths and Sports Development intends to use this initiative to create an enabling environment for young people to develop the capabilities to mitigate against cyber-attacks, thereby empowering them to maximize opportunities in cybersecurity space, within and outside Nigeria.

Entry Requirements For Halogen Cyber Competition 2023

• Applicants must be Nigerian
• Age range: 18 – 35 years
• Can register as an individual or as a team
• Participants are required to have a GitHub account for uploading their projects
• Project links should be uploaded via the submission portal.
• All applicants are expected to turn in their presentation/solution on or before the deadline on or before December 12th, 2022
• Evaluation will take 2-3 weeks before shortlisting the finalists for live presentation

Participants are to select one from the topics highlighted below.

Anti-Ransomware:

Build an Anti-Ransomware that can detect, decrypt and restore

Multi-Factor Authentication (MFA):

Build an MFA Software to address this issue, with features that cater to the unreliability/vulnerabilities of applications such as Google Authenticator, Authy, e.t.c

Fraud Detection:

Build a fraud detection software

Email Spam Detection:

Build an email spam filter

Intrusion Detection Systems:

Develop a system to spot malicious or unauthorized users on networks
