USA Public Service Loan Forgiveness (PSLF) – How To Apply

Welcome To Flippstack, in this article, we will be walking you through how to apply for the USA Public Service Loan Forgiveness which is aimed at assisting public servants who have worked for 10 years or more.

If you have worked in public service (federal, state, local, tribal government, or a non-profit organization) for 10 years or more (even if not consecutively), you may be eligible to have all your student debt canceled.

Now, for a limited time, it is easier than ever to receive that forgiveness, or get credit toward forgiveness, if you have not yet served 10 years.

Eligibility Criteria

1. Applicants must have any of the following student loans

Federal Family Education Loans (FFEL)
Federal Perkins Loans
Federally Insured Student Loans (FISL)
National Defense Student Loans (NDSL)
Supplemental Loans for Students (SLS)
Health Education Assistance Loan (HEAL)

2. You are also eligible if you have previously worked for any of the following entities since 2007?

The Federal Government
A State Government
A Local Government (E.G., CITY, MUNICIPALITY)
A Tribal Government
A Non-Profit Organization that is TAX-EXEMPT under section 501(C)(3) of the internal revenue code

Note: If you have worked for the above entities and where able to make payments on your federal student loan(s), not including the payment pause that started in March 2020, then you are eligible.
